Positive: The building is beautiful and the owner is very helpful, she organized the pick up and drop off at the train station without any problem, the car was alllowed within the walls so I had no issues with my luggage . Did not try the breakfast.
Negative: The rooms are cells like, and the interiors have seen better times compared to the beauty of the outside courtyards. The towels I was given were no longer white and had very worn edges. Also, I found the price a bit on the high end compared to 5 stars hotels across China, but then again this one establishment falls within the pricing of the majority of the hotels in Pingyao. People in historical costumes come in during the day to take pictures, so expect them to sit and make noise outside your windows. I stayed 2 nights and both mornings I was woken up at 5am by the cats arguing.
